These are the best skates I've ever had. You can go much faster on LandRollers than you can on inline skates. It is much more stabler and easier to control, you get a really smooth ride unlike the inline skates where your feet nearly vibrate off. I'd recommend these skates for beginners and experienced skaters.

Not an Improvement over inlines... except

Been skating for a very long time. Decided to try Landrollers. They look like a gimmick but sometimes you've got to take a leap.
They don't live up to the hype.
The boots are ungodly stiff and contort my foot so much that just wearing them is torture. It doesn't get better with time.
They require more effort too. Hills are killers due to stiff, heavy, ill fitting, boots. Blisters will grow on your feet after a short 8-10 mile skate.
They are superior to inline skates on rough, uneven, debris strewn surfaces. It takes a tree limb to slow me down now, versus a stick.
If I know the path will be rough or cluttered (like after a storm) I stongly consider wearing the Landrollers, knowing that I will suffer in other ways (blisters, crushed aching feet) but will not be taken down by an overlooked twig, otherwise my trusty K2s come out and I glide effortlessly and painfree.

Very hard to get used to. Your wieght must be positioned on the inside, if on a left turn for example, you place your wieght on the outside of your left foot, physics of this equipment will prevail and you'll fall faster than you can say, "where are my speed-skates" These are not speed-skates, they are novelty. One benefit though, when I take them off I feel great. When I gain better insight through practice I will update with results.

Poor Reviewers

These reviews are incorrect. It doesnt matter how many points of contact there are. If you have 1/2 as many points of contact you have 2x the pressure for the same skating force. (The equation for friction force is Friction Force = Coefficient of Static Friction X Normal Force, contact area is not in this equation) Speed skaters are faster because of the longer application of skating force because the contact edge is longer. The problem is probably because the rubber is too hard and doesnt deform into the imperfections on the skating surface for positive mechanical force application.

Great for beginners; not speedskates

Landroller intends to produce a speedskate version in the future. Current Landrollers are not faster than inline speedskates. Having only 2 wheels means there's not enough grip for fast acceleration. The concept is great and I don't regret getting them but the manufacturer's claim that they are faster than inlines is false. I'll be eager to try their speedskate version...
