Congrats to the first place winner Max Dunne, USA in competing in Ice Cross 2022 at Mount du Lac WI.
Thank you to everyone involved in building and maintaining this challenging track. Watching skaters fly down this track was an incredible experience. The fearless energy these skaters had was extremely inspiring. We started off with rough weather during the time trials on Thursday January, 28th at a temperature of 7 degrees making the ice conditions pretty hard to maintain. When it came down to race day we lucked out with sunshine and 20 degrees. Thankfully the track was a lot smoother and easier to manage.
Ice Cross athletes will be hosting kids training sessions at 10am on Sunday, January 30th. Keep a lookout for footage of the future ice cross champs.
Training for this sport can vary anywhere from day to day training to just basic fitness. Training also translates from hockey and inline skaters.
We are super excited to share and inspire others through photos and videos. Stay connected for parts 2, 3, 4…and maybe more from Ice Cross 2022 in Mount Du Lac, WI.

The second ever Roller Boogie skate event is back Saturday, April 9th at the Design District in Miami FL. Thank you Lindsey Koggan AKA All Skates Go To Heaven from Miami FL for bringing communities of skaters together for another amazing night of skating and dancing.
What feedback did you hear after the 1st roller boogie event? The first event was received extremely well! I partnered with Doris from Sobe Rollers and Skater Migration who helped me immensely in bringing the event to fruition. Not only did we get positive feedback from quad skaters but inline skaters who were in town for the Skater Migration event also had a great time. This was part of the reason we decided to bring inline skate rentals to our second one.
What was unexpected? The time! Who knew that four hours could pass by so quickly! Before we knew it, the event was over and everyone kind of stuck around wanting more. We are trying to extend the hours a bit more with the District.
What would you say to non-skaters? would they still enjoy the event? I absolutely think that non-skaters would enjoy the event. There's food trucks, music and local vendors. Last time we had a lot of non-skaters as well and some of them brought hula hoops and danced. These events encourage and promote movement and I think it might even motivate a few non-skaters to pick up some skates in the future.

What started off as an unpredictable rain day turned out to be the ultimate skate party. With a 50% chance of rain, Miami lucked out last Saturday making the Skater Migration official after party Roller Boogie still on!
This party was not like your average skating rink, we saw all types of skates doing their thing. Everyone from aggressive, fitness, quad, speed and rec skates coming together and bringing their sick skills.
We had everything we wanted all in the same place, making it extremely hard to leave! The Rollerblade van rolled through providing rental skates, we also saw all types of custom and creative vendors along with amazing food truck options.
This party would not be possible if it weren’t for these awesome sponsors; Inline Skate Marathon, Skater Migration, and of course the star of the show DJ Marc Vane for getting the party hype with the right tunes throughout the night.
This Special event was hosted by allskatesgotoheaven, keep a look out for more exciting events just like this.

-Dustin Purdy- Detroit, MI
"Skater Migration was an eye opening experience! From a novice perspective I was concerned about my foot comfort. I explored the streets of miami with many bladers and quad skaters. it was a great chance to talk about what gear worked for everyone’s unique style."

The Rollercade Detroit
Most people either inline or roller skate, but this brand new event invites every type of skater to share the same floor! Skate + Screening has kick-started their inclusive skate sessions which features skate films submitted by locals at one of Detroit's oldest roller rink, Rollercade. Inline and quad skaters can rock their LED wheels under Rollercade's black lights, and aggressive skaters can bust a move on ramps brought in for some extra entertainment.
Alex Hancook from What Is Art has been gaining positive press for his skate events in Detroit, most notably for Skate N' Dance at the Lexus Velodrome.
"We want to give people an easy gateway to our skate community, so they can learn about our sport and try it for themselves!" -Alex
The media team at What Is Art streams their event online, and also projects it onto a large screen during the event. Skate film directors can see their work in a new format, and viewers can appreciate media in a place other than their phone.
- Alex
Skate + Screening events are held monthly in Detroit. Pre-sale tickets are available on Eventbrite
