brakes were easy to replace, however, the new brake came with a new screw and allen wrench to install it, this allen wrench DOES NOT fit the old, existing brake. Just an FYI, no biggie.
  • over all very simple to replace, did it in less then 2 minutes.

My son wears out the brake easily on his skates. It is super simple to order and install the replacement.

    Customer Rating - 5 stars - It's a brake pad

It's a brake pad. It's a consumable item for skates.
  • Much to K2's credit, this pad fits (as far as I know), any skate they make except some from the 1990s. So many other inline skate brands try to profiteer by making each skate require a different pad -- when they would have to go out of their way to engineer that.
  • It's much more durable than the pad on the generic skates I started with.
  • It's a great value because it can be used on virtually any K2 skate. Otherwise, it's a brake pad. You use it and eventually it wears out.
  • The factory original K2 pad it replaced lasted about 6 months of skating 30-45 minutes a day. YMMV.

I weigh almost 200 lbs and skate hills, so I do a lot of braking. These brake pads last the longest of any I've tried. And they stop me quickly enough.
