Bearings: The metal rollers that go inside your rollerblade wheel.

ABEC - A rating which is given to some bearings. Conventionally, ABEC rating defines a bearings smoothness. Abec 1 lasts a long time, but spins slowly. Abec 7 bearings spin faster, but wear down quicker. Swiss bearings are in a league of their own. They are not rated. 698 bearings = mini bearings made by K2. limited and rare.

Bearing spacers - The metal or plastic tubes that go between the bearings Axles: The long bolts that go through your wheel, bearings and spacers.

608 - a number which refers to diameter and specs of a wheel hub or bearing size. A "608" bearing or wheel is standard size. Most everything in the skate industry is a "608."

688 - a number which refers to diameter and specs of a wheel hub or bearing size. A "688" bearing or wheel is MICRO size. When buying wheels or bearings everything must fit together. A "688" bearing fits a "688" hub wheel.

698 - a number which refers to diameter and specs of a wheel hub or bearing size. A "698" bearing or wheel is Mini size. When buying wheels or bearings everything must fit together. A "698" mini bearing fits a "698" hub wheel. (rare item)

ILQ-9 - A new rating given to bearings by twincam bearings company. There is no ABEC rating associated with this type of bearings. Very fast type of twincam bearing. Also means it has 6 ball bearings and they are made of Chrome steel (SAE 52100).
