Custom skates priced to get kids out there enjoying a smooth roll way above the typical bargain skates. Quality wheels from radar have enough grip to go outside but shine in the rink as well. The biggest difference is in the bearings; most youth skates have non-precision (sub abec rating) bearings that barely roll. All but the youngest beginners will benefit from the smoother (and faster) abec 5 bearings. But also the Step Above is a great looking skate, and the custom rims work to both keep the bearings clean as well as add a little style to the proceedings.
