My first skate was Rollerblade Lightning 09 and I loved it. I have been looking for a new skate to replace it. Finally I found this speed machine 110.I am skating at least 2 hrs per time so I like traning skates more than racing ones. I personally own five pairs of skates including this one, I think i will stick to this speed machine. This skate gave me fantastic impression; it was light, fitting was awesome, and more importantly very stable feeling with 110mm wheels. Only drawback of this skate for me was design. I like outstanding colours like red, white, gold, blue and something like that, but Rollerblade decided to use thier classical colour. Overall, I can give 98 score out of 100.

I am coming up to 2,500 miles on mine and they are just started to show wear on the cuffs. I skate in the bike lane about ten miles four or five times a week.

I live in the NorthEast. I started skating 4 years ago but am not able to skate during the winters. For the previous 2 years I try to skate 15-20 miles at each session( daily, weather permitting) so I put many miles on my skates. My previous 2 skates were K2 softboots and I had no problems other than wear and tare. You know you replace wheels and bearings until the boots break down and need replacing. I purchased these Rollerblade softboots this time approx. 3 weeks prior to this review.I read in a review that these boots run large so I ordered a half size lower than my normal shoe size. The length is fine but my foot is not wide enough to tighten the boot as tight as I am used to. I added "superfeet " insoles and they helped a little but my back half of my feet moves around to much and my heels come up and I have to alter my stroke to try to get back to the speed of my pervious skate. If I had to do it again , after only 3 weeks of tryout, I would not buy these but purchase another K2 softboot. Maybe I am just to used to the way the K2 boot fit me and I feel awkward in a different style fit boot and maybe after a month or so maybe I will prefer this Rollerblade fit but as of right now I do not like this fit.

Skates are fast. Larger wheels do make it more difficult to make sharp turns -- but are perfect for long distance paved trails. Brakes are easy to use.

When I first got the skates one year ago I thought they were pretty good. Strap broke in a fall. No big deal. Afer a few months my first eyelet for lacing came off. I fixed it. No big deal. 2nd season all eyelets had to be replaced. Big deal. Frame is detaching from the boot. Big deal. Removeable booty is failing appart at the seams. Rollerblade the company does not return emails. All a big deal. I will not buy rollerblade again. Fellow skaters are very happy with K2. I will try them next.

Every day I'm going from home to work and back on my new skates. It's about 20km. Just barely moving I can get almost the best time comparing to my previous 84mm skates. On the average speed they also behave somewhat smoother on the rough surface.

I bought these so that I can do long exercise sessions (1.25-2hr) and to prevent tripping over road cracks and higher speeds. I am coming from a K2 4x80mm skate. This is my first long wheelbase skate. Upon my first maiden voyage on these, I quickly noticed how smooth and fast they were. I wasn't even striding hard at all and easily went faster than my K2's. The downside to all this stability and speed is that these things are hard to stop and do tight parallel turns as I am used to. That is to be expected as these are semi race made to go mainly straight with no real obstacles in your way. The heel brake it comes with is totally useless due to them being so far back from the heel of your foot that you can't get any leverage on it. I usually do slaloms to help slow myself down on my K2's, but that is still a work in progress with these Speedmachines due to them wanting to go straight and hard to do quick slaloms with. I may switch the frame to a 5x80mm if I can ever get used to the Speedmachine boot. The length of the fit is great, but the boot seems very narrow right next to where the pinky toe begins, also known as the widest part of the human foot(two inches back from the tip of the boot, on the side). This design in general bothers me because I do not have a wide foot, and it is fairly average by all means. It is like wearing a woman's boot or something. This 'squeezing' pressure on my foot causes major cramps pretty early on during my sessions. Usually after 30 minutes I am in pure agony and have to pull over to the sidewalk to take them off and rest my feet for 10 minutes. Overall these skates do what they are intended for. I will have to remove 1 point from a useless heel brake due to no leverage in it's 'simple' design to use it effectively. The other point I will demerit is from the boot's narrow fit which makes these things pretty painful to use.

Bought these skates for fast paced recreational use and they far exceed my expectations. they come with the brake removed [...] and only took me a few minutes to put it on. the 110mm wheels are HUGE and the ride is very smooth. make sure to tighten all the components back down after attaching the break as my skating frame fell away from the boot because the screw holding it was loose. the boot is a little narrow for my feet but other than that it is very comfortable. I would buy them again.

I've put about 150 miles on these now and they are working out well. My feet are wide and they pinch a bit and are unforgiving in that area. I tried 10 1/2 and they were good except for the width so I went to size 11. I'm told by Rollerblade the plastic can be heated to 150 degrees and adjusted some so I may be doing that if needed. The wheels seem to be good quality as the mold lines on most of the wheels haven't even worn off yet. If you aren't expert you might still like these skates. I find them just as easy to skate on as my K2 softboot 84mm skates, just faster, but they aren't as maneuverable (of course). I installed the brake because I skate at a park with small children in some areas and need to be extra careful. It's not as useless as some say but it does take much more pressure to be about half as effective as my K2 skates brake (they are VERY noisey). It will not bring you to a complete stop on a steep hill no matter how hard you push but you can use it to control your speed fairly well. Overall I like them pretty well and with a bit of breaking in and maybe some minor adjustment I think they will be comfortable also.
