This price is for each brake. Ideal for downhills and fast outdoor skating. fits on the back of the rollerskate. Complete with metal bracket.

The U-channel bolt fits around all Sure-Grip trucks. The "feet" clamp around the bottom of the truck allowing you to adjust at any angle you want. Meant to go on one side (skate) for braking with your foot in front of you. As opposed to a toe-stop where you trail your foot behind. Goes on the back facing out.

Face the California Skate Brake Pad down towards the ground, slip on the washers and tighten the nuts after you adjust the angle of leverage you prefer to the ground.

Hard to get this sucker on(tried 3 different people). Easier to put on if you take the back wheels off first.

I have used these brakes for about twenty years. It is great to be able to stop going downhill, without having to turn around and use the toe stops. Be warned, this has a long stopping time if you're going fast. Use it in a pulsing fashion to keep your speed down on hills until you get practiced with it. The pad wears out rather quickly if used on asphalt. If you wear it down to the screws, it is hard to change the pad. The pad will mar the floors of skating rinks, I do not recommend it's use there. I made some long lasting pads out of strips I cut from a used tire. They had three mounting holes instead of two so they could be reversed to compensate for wear. (Note. It takes a long time to make one of these with a hacksaw.) These brakes are designed for Sure Grip trucks but are easily modified to fit other brands. This is a well designed brake, I just wish the pads were more durable.
