Riedell Roller Skate Toe Guards provide two useful functions, protecting the most commonly scuffed part of the boot and being themselves quite stylish. Attach one end to beneath the toe stop and the other lace through the bottom most ringlets and your set to roll scuff free.

When walking on stairs, the boot wears out quickly without these guards. They could be better shaped to fit the front of a shoe. But it works, it's ok.

If you do not jam skate you do not need toe guards. I would only suggest these to people that drive there skates really hard by doing on the floor tricks. They add to the weight of the skate and take away from the the look of the skate.

These are easy to put on and I love the bright colors (mine are blue). I wish they were a little thicker because I think I'll wear through them quickly, but otherwise they're perfect.
