Great tips to fit into the skates you just purchased.
You may feel like the skates you purchased are too small at first. It is most likely because the boots are not fitted to your feet yet. The counter (a reinforcement placed at the back of the boot for foot/boot support) needs to be opened.
Please try the following steps:
Remove the footbed(sockliner) that is used to cover the insole. Stand straight on it, making sure your heel is lined up with the footbed. If you have about 1/4"extra on the footbed, the size should be correct.
Push the back of the boot against hard surface, a table, desk, etc to open up the counter (area just above the heel on the boot).
Put the boot on and lace all the way up. Lacing up can help push your heel move back.
The size is right, but it still does not fit right? Try warming up the boot either with a hair dryer or in an oven at 200 F for 5 min, then put the boot on and leave it on for 5 min to custom fit to your feet. If you used the oven method, make sure not to touch the blade. Even though it is only 200 F, the blade can get hot.
