No one can be rougher on skates than me. I am an over-weight skater who skates every night with my dog, rain or shine. Through puddles, over curbs, broken sidewalks, rough asphalt, over the roughest manhole covers. When the dog is pulling, you ain't always heading to the smoothest, safest path. The quadline skates can really handle the rough road, no more road vibration, and you can outpace your dog, unless its a greyhound. The skates were easy to break in....just be more careful breaking in the dog...don't want to run him to death. And be careful when you pull the skates out of your closet, and the dog seems them....they are his new best friends.

These are the nicest skates I've not only seen in a long time, but the nicest I've personally ever owned. They are tough to brake-in at first because they are made with really nice solid leather and padded well. They are also a bit pricey too, especially if you need a half size like I did because the cheaper pairs only come in whole sizes. They do not come with in-soles so you'll have to scavenge some from an old pair of sneakers you have lying around, but that does the trick just fine. My favorite thing about these skates all around would be that they are clearly stamped all over them "Made in USA" that is the main factor in why I chose these skates as well to be totally honest. Only garbage seems to be made in China these days, and not just skates, everything. If it's made in China it probably won't last you long or be truly any good at all in my experience. I can see these skates easily lasting me a very long time because they are so well made. Every skate I got in the past was [*] and had quickly made its way to [...] for a quick turn around because they were junk. I am definitely keeping my Riedell's however, these are some really sweat skates. Finally things are being made in America again, you gotta love it.

I've owned these skates for 3 years. I skate every night I can, 6 to 8 miles per night. I have 1000's of miles on these skates. Yes, I've had to buy new wheels, but that is to be expected for any vehicle. After 3 years and 1000's of miles, the darn rubber pivot cups have started to wear, and now I must replace them. That is $5.98 worth of unexpected expense after 3 years of maximum abuse; dancing and jumping and dodging traffic. I am still using the original laces. If it weren't for some scuff marks, you'd swear that these are fairly new skates. But you shouldn't swear. You should, though, buy the best, and maximum your fun and safety, and never need to worry about repairs...'cept maybe $5.98 , 1000's of miles down the road. This one pair of skates can bring you a lifetime of pleasure. Don't be cheap. Buy the best and never look back.
