The Quad line rear brakes make a big difference.the toe strops that the skates come with are fine too but the rear braking action seems to work much better than the toe stop.easy to install on your skates.wouldnt be with out

Just make sure your ordering the "quad line" back brakes if you have quad line skates, otherwise it will not fit the trucks right, hence no stopping. Its easy to install and makes stopping very nice n smooth. I would like the rubber stop to be more durable for outdoor use, when outside skating they grind down fast, especially if your always racing around like I do. I love to go fast so I also do a lot of quick stopping.

I love the stop afforded with a toe top and heel brakes together, done on a curve. It is a means of coming to a quick stop in one solid movement. I wish they made two versions of the stop, the regular and extra long. My smoothest roll is with a 110 mm wheel. It gives me the best roll for the particular surface. I cannot do the heel/toe stop, and must use other ways. I have more than one pair of quadlines, and use smaller wheels when I want to use this particular stop technique.

Given the option I feel more confident knowing that I have a friction device to help me slow down. This brake can get in the way when you are dancing.
