I love my new skates! These skates are my first upgrade from fresh meat R3's. Its like upgrading from a standard Honda Civic to a fully loaded BMW seven series. The fit is perfect; I ordered in my regular womens shoe size on a reccommendation from a teammate. The components are all high end and worth the investment. The boot is definately crafted to mold to your foot, particularly the back of the ankle. They aren't lieing when they say that you have to bend your knees....otherwise there is notable pressure on the Achillies tendon. I really like the lace covers for protecting the laces. I had to put toe guards (read duct tape) on right away because I'm hard on the toes of my skates and I wore down the first protective layer of leather in about four hours of practicing slides and falls. The wheels are OK. I'd be inclined to say they are great except mine came with a chunk missing from the outer edge of one wheel and I see some small pits which are manufacturing defects on the others. I skate on sealed wood and these are less sticky than my Mojo's but no problems with slide out on the turns. The plates are gorgeous and very sturdy. They are also very intimidating for someone unfamiliar with the technical aspect of roller skates. They require tools (allen wrenches and a few regular wrenches)which were not included with the skates, to my disappointment. Also, there was no manual included with the plate, again very disappointing for the price, but you can find a link for the manual online. My only serious complaint about the skates is that the trucks were not properly tightened from the manufacturer. I almost lost my right front assembly the second time I put the skates on. And there I was...no tools, no manual...no skates. I'm having difficulty getting them tightened down properly; it seems the kingpin needs to be shortened. I'm digging through forums to get the right advice on how to adjust it properly. As a side note I also intend to replace the cushions as they are super stiff and don't allow for as much spring and agility as I would like. All in all these skates are fantastic and I forsee many happy years with them on my feet. Once I get through the learning curve the ability to make so many adjustments is actually a good thing. They skate beautifully, they are fast, and they glide for miles. They are far superior in agility to the R3's even with the stiff cushions and what I've read says they will be amazing with some minor modifications. I'm very happy with my purchase and only reccommend that Skates.com include tools and a manual in the future. And just because I wished for this kind of info when I read other reviews of what people were buying: I'm 6'2", 230lbs, and I primarily play as a blocker. When upgrading my skates I was looking for durable parts (4 stars), agility (4 stars), and light weight (4 stars).
