Riedell Roller Skate Triple Lace Toe Guards provide two useful functions, protecting the most commonly scuffed part of the boot and being themselves quite stylish. Attach one end to beneath the toe stop and the other lace through the bottom most ringlets and your set to roll scuff free.

These work excellently, but I find they are very thin (width ways). Something wider that perhaps wrapped around the toes of your skates would give much better protection. Also, they can slip sideways easily if your laces aren't tight.

These work alright, but I use them for derby and I wish I would have bought the toe caps for better coverage.

Use these for roller derby. They're pretty durable, but they only cover the very front part of the toe. I don't get too much excessive wear on the sides of the toe though. Toe caps could work better, but they're more expensive. Little bit of duct tape could work too in addition to the toe guards for coverage of the side of the toe if you need it.
