I bought these skates recently so I didn't have to use rentals. Even after about a dozen uses, they do not feel comfortable, and I continue to have problems with the truck becoming loose. My friend bought the same model and had to replace a cracked wheel very shortly after purchase. So I'd say these are okay for the price, if you skate only occasionally and indoors, but definitely replace the wheels. However, if you can afford a little more, get better skates.

These skates were not for myself; they are for my grandson. I understand from his parents that they are so good that his dad is going to have to get some, too--he's jealous! I'll recommend you. They were reasonably priced for a growing child, and if he stops going to the rink to skate, he'll still have skates he can use around the neighborhood outside.

Chicago Skates are very comfortable wit a good fit. The tongue on the skates got a little bit irritating though. Every so often the tongue would get out of place.

These are very good skates to begin with. Consider upgrading ur bearing if ur heavier bodied person. For the most part they are very nice skates.

my son is a beginner and he is feeling more confident with these skares that I got for him. He is only 10 years old so I will be purchasing another pair eventually. However overall excellent for him

Although skates arrived with dry bearings, which tightened and squealed on first use, they were pretty much what I expected for a child, a grandson, who liked them . . . a lot. The boots are vinyl, not leather, but suitable for a child despite being quite stiff and a little difficult to break-in. [...]
