They work great! My daughter is 9 and was having trouble tying her skates tight enough. One thing they don't tell you is that you really need 2 of them so you can pull the laces on both sides of the skate at the same time just as you would if you were pulling them with your fingers. My daughter skates competively so it is nice that she can get them tied all on her own. The other kids have seen her using them and think they are very cool. I've even used them when lacing up my own skates and it makes it so much easier to get them tight and helps avoid having to re-tighten them after skating for a few minutes. I highly recommend them!
