The Lake Placid skates have been in our family for past 3 years. We just got new size for my both kids (boy and girl). They are a great shoe that does not give kids any blisters as would the rentals at the ice skating ring. Very comfortable, easy to put on and adjust, light. With the kids feet growing and us skating only 4-5 times a year it is a great buy. We have started with the smallest size that our grandparents purchased for the kids in Europe. This is the only website I was able to locate them at. I was just looking for the same brand that my kids outgrown, we did not care for any other kind.

I bought a boy's pair and a girl's pair in a size 5-7. The first pair I bought for my daughter had a defect in one of the skates which would not allow the size 5 position to lock. [...] The boys skate has a blade like a hockey skate which both my son and daughter prefer. The girls skate has the classic figure skate "teeth" which has taken my daughter some time to get used too. Part of the problem for her is that she ideally needs a size 4.5 skate which does not exist in our price range. I like the fact that my kids can put on and adjust their own skates. The skates give plently of support and hot spots are kept to a minimum with these amply padded boot skates. Overall, after skating in their new skates twice, my kids are happy with these skates.

This is a great skate. The only problem so far has been that the clips come undone quite a bit on my 6 year olds feet. She's a beginner and probably kicks them with the other foot but still, they could be disgned differently so this doesnt happen.

Great skates for the price, extremely comfortable and I luv how they r adjustable. My daughter went to a ice skating party so I purchased them for her and the birthday girl and they were stoked!
