The alloy cap gives you the resistance of the aluminum hub without the weight of the full aluminum core. You get the snappiness and speed of a higher durometer wheel but the grip and stickiness of a lower durometer wheel. Of course you have the high quality polyeurathane that Atom is known for, so I have dubbed my Juke 2.0's the "Jesus Wheel." I have loaned them out to a few people on my team of varying weights and positions because they have been hesitant to take me on my word (although I do buy about a pair of wheels a month) and pretty much everyone has been blown away by the responsiveness of the wheel. The best part is that once they are bald they continue to perform because of the high grade of polyeurathane, although I did eventually have mine resurfaced. On another note, I find that for a "skinny" wheel the Juke allows for quick turn and high responsiveness without limiting my ability to snowplow and lay down the big hits with stability as a blocker as do the super skinny wheels like my Heartless, which I find can be a little dicey at times. So for the chubby wheel convert looking for a lighter alternative to the aluminum hub this may be your "Jesus Wheel" too.
