Artistic rink wheels may be used for rink dancing, for artistic moves such as spins and jumps, as well as basic recreational rink skating at all levels. The larger the diameter (how tall a wheel is) the longer the roll. A skater will get around the rink faster with a larger wheel. Hard wheels will slide more. Rink wheels are harder than outdoor wheels, because a rink surface is more perfect than outside pavement. 92A - 95A is most appropriate for beginners and for very light skaters. 98A-103A is most appropriate for heavy skaters and skillful skaters who want to slide and don't want grip. Durometer is only part of the quality associated with wheels - the formula of the best wheels is hard, yet with some grip for splits, toe stands, fast crossovers and awesome moves such as grapevine!
